third (or second) nitpicker's guide! Posted by 8 of 12 at
08:13AM, April 16,
2005 | Okay, so I've
fallen a bit behind already. I'll catch up, I'm sure of it.
Just to make sure I don't fall behind any further... this
one's up on time. Here is the Nitpicker's Guide to Doctor Who #103: The
Unquiet Dead.

See? It wasn't such a lost cause... Posted by 8 of 12 at
21:56PM, April 13,
2005 | Showing that I
have to pull myself out of this blue funk I managed to get
bogged down in, I decided to pull my finger out and make Lost
Cause part 5!
So, there you go! It's in the radio
series, all uploaded and ready to go for your listening
pleasure.
I had a really whacked out dream last night,
with me and a bunch of people on rollerskates doing
co-ordinated dancing to Nelly's 'Tilt Ya Head Back'. I
actually laughed myself awake. I take that as a
sign.

New nitpicker's guide online! Posted by 8 of 12 at
00:58AM, April 3,
2005 | Nitpicker's
guides are somewhat a feature of my previous site, The
Galactic Handbook, but watching the new Doctor Who episodes
kind of made me remember why I liked writing them so much to
begin with. So let's see how long I can keep up to scheduale:
online now is the Nitpicker's Guide to Doctor Who #101:
Rose.

I can't believe you fell for it,
Limpy Posted by 8 of 12 at
22:54PM, April 2,
2005 | Yeah,
unfortunately, the previous story in regards to the rights of
Carl the Swordmaster of Jamabalaya Island being sold to
LucasArts is a complete April Fools joke. As if they'd make a
business decision that smart!

Nightlight Productions sells out Posted by 8 of 12 at
23:11PM, April 1,
2005 |
I'm both
extremely pleased and a little dismayed to announce that
Nightlight Productions have sold the rights to one of its
characters, specifically Carl, the Swordmaster of Jambalaya
Island, to LucasArts for undisclosed use in future
projects.
'At this point in time, the future of Beneath
Monkey Island is uncertain.' Matthew Smith, creator,
achnowledges. 'And if Carl can go on to bigger and better
things... then who am I to hold him back?'
When asked
who would voice Carl and be responsible for his material, all
that Matthew would disclose is 'I hope that someone high
profile like Eddie Murphy, Chris Tucker, or Martin Lawrence
are contracted for the voice acting. I myself will retain
creator rights, and all material will need to be met with my
approval. Expect a fair amount of 'yo momma'
jokes.'
The decision to sell the rights of Carl also
included an option to the rights of another Nightlight
character, that of Valora DeCazador.
Above:
Artist's impression of Carl, next to his real life preferred
counterpart.

New menu! See left! Posted by
8 of 12 at
04:52AM, March 26,
2005 | Now that the
feature for Number Two has gone online, it's time to sneak
preview a new character on the menu. Please marvel and drool
at the debute of the fourth character, Death!
Met...
can you put 'sections' over the top again, please? I'll be
stuffed if I can figure out how you did it right... Paint Shop
Pro doesn't do shadowing.

Finally, Number Two is 3D! Posted by 8 of 12 at
03:52AM, March 26,
2005 | A long awaited
feature about the 3D character of Number Two is now in the
feature section! This is something that has been hinted about,
heck, you all even got a teaser in the form of the menu image
on the left... but now you can finally see Number Two in all
his 3D glory!
Please post praise to the wonder that is
Sal on the forums. Have a nice Easter tomorrow,
everyone.

I have a news account. Posted
by Metallus at 06:27AM, March 16,
2005 | It's true! I've
had one since the beginning seeing as I installed the news
script. Being that this is not my website, however, I do not
plan to use it often. Hi!

Be right back Posted by 8 of 12 at
18:00PM, March 8,
2005 | Sorry about this
guys... I'm going through a kinda traumatic break up with my
girl and during the next couple of weeks will probably find
myself moving across the other side of the country, to Sydney.
After that., I have to pull together my will to live.
So March might be written off as far as Nightlight
goes.
Wish me luck, everyone. Sal and Metallus can
probably keep you apprised on the forums. Me... I don't know
if I'll be able to look at the site for a while.
You
gamble everything for love...

Welcome to my Life, Sunday edition Posted by 8 of 12 at
19:00PM, February 20,
2005 | Well that
certainly was an eventful Sunday!
Noddy: 1, Other
Car: 0
Yesterday, Noddy had his first (to my
knowledge) major battle and came out victorious.
With
Bec and myself in the car after a morning at the markets, I
made ready to leave the car park. Okay, so maybe I swung
around a bit too wide when I left the parking spot and turned
to the car park intersection. But hey, Noddy has no power
steering. Easy mistake to make.
A lady swung around the
corner next to me when she really had no business doing it.
She wasn't going to make it, but she tried anyway. Next thing
I know I hear a crunch that honestly sounded like a tin can
being crushed - the driver side of her car doors had hit the
back corner of Noddy.
I hit the horn. She actually
tried to accelerate and made it worse. I think that Noddy's
horn may have scared her more than anything, it does
sound a bit like a constipated cow. Her husband was in the
passenger seat next to her, and I could see him leaping out of
the car already... but it clearly wasn't my fault. She had the
right of way, she just took the corner too sharply. After the
cars were pried apart, myself and the other guy inspected the
damage. His car, a couple of years old, around $30,000 Aussie
dollars worth of automobile, had a large dent in both the
doors, and at least $3000 worth of damage.
Pictured
below is the extent of Noddy's damage.
I
think we can see who the clear winner was of that
little argument.
Damage control on the paint
situation
To add to the previous news update
involving a rather worrying paint mark on the carpet floor,
progress has been made: we picked up this rug from a garage
sale, and it appears to be doing the trick
For
the sake of consistency, I made Oscar get in this photo as
well. Next we might actually try getting the paint out
of the carpet. What is more likely to happen is for it to stay
this way until we need to move, and then start to
panic.
And then there were three
Driving
home from the markets yesterday (after Noddy's courageous
battle) Bec happened to notice a garbage bag on the side of
the road. A moving garbage bag.
We pulled over, and on
further investigation I really don't know how Bec managed to
see it, she must have been looking out for it. But there was a
plastic grey garbage bag, and inside, three dead kittens and
one still alive.
He was badly dehydrated, and had us
worried most of last night. But he's a tough little guy. Been
doing a lot of sleeping, but seems to be doing better. So if
he ends up sticking around (and I can't imagine Bec letting go
of him) that brings our cat total to three.
I
think he's around six weeks old. Tiny little thing. Bec has
named him 'Pepper'. I wanted to call him Jonas, Pepe, or Sal.
